Original, honest and fairly straightforward
Regardless of whether you’re here to ski, hike or simply relax, anyone who makes their way to this beautiful spot on earth in the Paznauntal valley really will be able to enjoy days full of “Bergwiesenglück” as the name (German for “mountain meadow happiness”) implies. With the Stadldorf at an altitude of 1,250 metres and its unique archicture, architect Thomas Schönauer fulfilled his personal vision of freedom and happiness. Inspired by the archicture of the traditional Heustadl (hay barns), he created 12 freestanding Stadtl (based on farm barns) chalets which blend harmoniously into the surroundings and, with their almost purist interiors, allow the breathtaking panorama to take centre stage – in the three-storey chalets which all have two baths, stove, private spa and balcony incl. alm bath as well as in the two suites and certainly in the infinity pool on the roof of the main building. Days here start with a regional Bergwiesen breakfast in the Stadl-chalet and end with an evening or à la carte menu in the Bergwiesenhof.
Rooms
Rough wood, honest local materials and loving details such as the mountain meadow hay on the ceiling are an expression of the nature of nature and are reflected in the twelve chalets in a steep slope as in both suites. The interior harmonizes with the beautiful landscape and is a tribute to the neighboring Heustadl of the new mountain village.

The chalets, designed as traditional Stadl (hay barns typical of this region), create a wonderful sense of comfort and well-being and offer plenty of space across three floors with two bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom, children’s room with bunk bed, separate toilet on the ground floor, interiors out of regional natural materials and spacious living and dining area with stove. A panoramic balcony and small private spa with sauna, terrace and alm bath complete these elegant retreats. The Stadl Chalets offer space for six people and an extra bed can be provided for an additional guest.
