A luxurious foray through the Garden of Eden in South Africa
The wine country around the metropolis Cape Town is the culinary epicentre of South Africa. Surrounded by vineyards, Karen Roos and her husband Koos Bekker created the dream resort of Babylonstoren from the former Cape Dutch farm between Paarl and Franschhoek. They transformed the dilapidated houses and fallow land into a blooming, fertile patch of earth and revived an important part of South African history with their Garden of Eden (designed by the renowned French landscape architect Patrice Taravella). Today, a charming hotel, winery, spa and various shops unite to form a perfect holiday symbiosis on the 200-hectare site. Beautiful cottages, suites and the Manor House offer luxurious accommodation in the typical Cape Dutch style. The restaurant "Babel" is one of the best pleasure temples in the region. Wine cellar tours, guided garden walks and a pool complete the offer.
