This place is the geographical centre of Austria and for Barbara and Bernhard Gröhs one of the most beautiful spots on earth: Bad Aussee in Styria. Here they created a unique holiday domicile out of an old farm property for people who, like themselves, appreciate nature, individuality and privacy. The location on a hill between orchards, meadows and the view of the imposing Dachstein mountains alone makes the heart of the beholder beat faster. Sustainability as well as the symbiosis between history and zeitgeist had the highest priority for the builders. All the historic buildings, including the forge, were lovingly restored. Two new buildings with their glass fronts and modern architecture integrate perfectly into the ensemble. The result is a unique holiday home that, despite all the comforts, also exudes the flair of rural living. They bear such pretty names as Zirbenwipfel or Platzhirsch and offer a wonderful home away from home. The nibbling garden with vegetables and fruits as well as a large swimming pond complete the property.

Whether you look out of the cosy box windows in the old farmhouse or through the large glass walls of the new orchard houses - the view is always fantastic - the region suggests a picture in the living space - a picture that changes its dress seasonally. The Schmiedgut offers six flats (2-12 persons) in four restored and two new buildings. Amenities include a complete kitchen, WLAN, cable TV, wellness area with sauna, fireplace and other amenities such as handcrafted beds and wardrobes made of local larch or balcony/terrace. What all domiciles have in common is the cosy, very tasteful interior.
