Cliff faces, surging rivers, the expanse of the savannah and one of the most beautiful game reserves in South Africa: this is the Marakele National Park in the northeast of Limpopo province. The creators of the Marataba Safari Lodge, taking account of environmental and social considerations, have built an extra special hideaway where guests are accommodated in 15 Luxury Tented Suites with pavilion roof. All come with tasteful bathrooms, open-air showers, air conditioning, patios and every conceivable comfort. The main building houses a restaurant and the lobby with fireplace.

Another wildlife experience is available at the new Marataba Trails Lodge, where guests can get closer to nature by exploring this amazing reserve on foot, in the company of a qualified guides, who will interpret the splendor you see around you. What an adventure! Accommodation takes the form of five luxury eco-suites.

The architectural and interior design of the lodge is impressive and maximises the panoramic view of the Waterberg mountain range.
Each of the 15 canvas- and-stone Tented Suites is tastefully furnished and decorated with a contemporary twist.
The free-standing stone bath in each Suite is a very good place to breathe in the moment, and reconnect.
Family Suites at Marataba can accommodate up to 3 people sharing.
Wherever you may land, you will find a view and you will feel the very special energy of this grand and very old space.
Walking through the Lodge and out onto the grass beyond reveals this view. That you will never tire of it, we are sure!

There are at least 30 leopards on the property and the lion population is growing.
Private safari vehicles available, subject to availability. Maximum number of guests per vehicle is 8.
