A stately jewel
Picturesquely situated in the heart of France (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region/ Departement Cantal) is the Château de Cols in the picturesque village of Junhac. After extensive renovation, the current owners turned the 14th-century castle on the Auze river into a jewel whose beauty they love to share with others. Since May 2023, families or friends can reside in this enchanting holiday domicile in an almost stately manner. The 700 sqm living space of the château is spread over three floors. With six bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room, library, office, fitness room, games room (pool table, dart board) and a spacious living room, it offers enough space for up to twelve guests. The luxurious and elegant interior leaves nothing to be desired - history and modernity unite in a perfect symbiosis. The SPA room, where you can have a massage, is romantically located in the tower. The impressive property is surrounded by a 1.7-hectare idyllic park with a lily pond and a private pool. An oasis of tranquillity that invites you to linger. A caretaker couple lives on the premises, is happy to give tips on events and excursions, restaurant recommendations and has an open ear for all wishes/questions.
The Cantal is the department with the largest number of hiking trails in France, along rivers and forests, waterfalls and aqueducts. The nature is diverse, beautiful and impressive, and the paths are mostly picturesquely surrounded by old chestnut trees.
Absolutely worth seeing, Salers, a fully preserved medieval village surrounded by city walls, defensive towers and narrow streets where craftsmen have their workshops. Salers was voted "Un des plus beau village de France" (One of the most beautiful villages in France).
Rooms
The entire château has a living space of more than 700 square meters. The six bedrooms are spread over three floors. Each of the rooms is individually decorated with luxurious interiors, antiques, expressive pictures and high-quality double beds. The pool is heated and open from early May to late September (weather permitting). The pool can be locked child-proof with an electric pool cover. The water lily pond is not fenced in, so small children should be kept an eye on at all times. Below you will find an explanation of the layout of the château.
Ground floor
On the ground floor there is the very large, fully equipped kitchen with a five meter long table, a gas stove, two electric ovens, a large fridge/freezer and the dishwasher. A cook can be organized upon request. Up to eight guests can dine in the separate dining room (also on the ground floor). The living room invites you to relax with a large sofa area. There is a large flat screen TV (satellite reception), DVD player as well as a Sonos music system and wireless internet access. Also on the ground floor there is a bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
First floor
On the 1st floor there is the spacious master bedroom with dressing room and shower room in the tower. There are two further bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms on this floor.
Second floor
On the 2nd floor there are two bedrooms that share a bathroom in the tower, as well as the sports, spa and billiards rooms.
The garden area
The impressive property is surrounded by an idyllic 1.7 hectare park with a water lily pond and a private pool.
