The small town of Ilsenburg, surrounded by glittering lakes at the foot of the Brocken, is located right next to the Harz National Park, just a few kilometres from Wernigerode and Goslar. Ines and Jens-Uwe Schültke had the villa extensively renovated and opened Villa Ottilienruh as a luxurious hotel in November 2022, thus creating a further incentive to visit Ilsenburg. A stay in the villa is reminiscent of the time when holidays were still called summer retreats. It is a place of power that promises deep relaxation, a place for a well-earned break from the hectic pace of everyday life. When guests enter the country estate, they immediately sense the passion, taste and commitment with which the new hosts have created this unique retreat. Four beautiful, individual design suites invite them to enjoy their own personal summer retreat. Each one is a very special retreat in its own right. Guests can find further relaxation in the wellness area with soothing massages. Here they can also immerse themselves in the exquisite world of energetic balance (CQM – Chinese Quantum Method).

The villa is of course a perfect location for celebrating unforgettable weddings or private events. From the elegant entrance area to the picturesque garden and the stylish interiors – there could hardly be a more beautiful backdrop for romantic wedding photos. It is possible to hire the entire house. The creative hosts will be happy to answer any questions you may have about planning a celebration. They also offer their guests chalets for overnight stays. On the grounds of these chalets is another special gem: the Dachsbau restaurant. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.30 p.m., gourmets are spoilt with regional delicacies and can get to know the local cuisine of the Harz. What else is there to say? Villa Ottilienruh is not just a place for those seeking relaxation, a starting point for endless hikes, bike tours and discoveries. Four-legged guests are welcome here, as the Harz Mountains are a paradise for nature lovers and “happy dogs“. Last but not least: Ines and Jens-Uwe Schültke are full of further innovative ideas, as demonstrated by their latest project: the extension of the villa with dreamlike country houses, which will be completed this year.
